REGATTA HOISTS SAILS FOR HOSPICE
Members of the Jack Beatty Memorial Regatta committee recently gathered at the new Niagara Hospice House in Lockport to present proceeds from their annual Regatta and Niagara River Boat Cruise to Hospice president & CEO, John Lomeo. August, 2007 marked the 8th year for the event. Guests enjoyed a scenic 3-hour sail up the Lower Niagara River followed by a clambake dinner, live entertainment and a variety of silent and gift basket auctions items. Yacht owners from Youngstown, Wilson, Olcott and Toronto serve as host skippers every August. The event has grown each year and represents the combined efforts of the committee, area businesses, farmers, community service groups, and hundreds of guests that support the event year after year.
