HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS GET A DAY AT DISNEY
In 2010, Disney Parks and HandsOn Network are celebrating the spirit and power of volunteerism with the Give A Day, Get A Disney Day program. Disney wants to inspire one million people to volunteer a day of service to a participating organization and celebrate their good works by giving each of them a one-day admission to a theme park at Disneyland® Resort or Walt Disney World® Resort, free.

Disney is working with HandsOn Network – the volunteer focused arm of Points of Light Institute. HandsOn is the largest volunteer network in the nation and includes more than 250 HandsOn Action Centers. The network includes more than 70,000 corporate, faith and non-profit organizations which delivered approximately 30 million hours of volunteer service in 2008.

Niagara Hospice is proud to be selected as a participating agency. Qualifying volunteers who give a day of volunteer service to Niagara Hospice in 2010 will get a free day of Disney theme park fun.
“This partnership is a great way to celebrate our volunteers, recruit new volunteers as well as increase awareness of Niagara Hospice,” said Niagara Hospice Director of Volunteer Services Alice Beck. “What a wonderful way to start the New Year,” said Beck.

Niagara Hospice must verify volunteer attendance for posted job opportunities before the theme park ticket is redeemed. Ticket quantities for the program are limited. The program began January 1 and continues until all tickets are distributed or until December 15, 2010, which ever comes first. Niagara Hospice is opening this program to volunteers age 14 and above.

Interested volunteers must register and sign up for opportunities found on www.disneyparks.com in order to participate. Potential volunteers are responsible for reading and following the Terms and Conditions posted on the site. Theme park tickets are non-transferable and limited to one per person.
